Remembrance Service

Led by Father Paul including 2 minutes silence

The Remembrance Service went extremely well and all our uniformed groups from Scouts and Guides were represented.

The intial picture is of Willie McBride a soldier in the Iniskillen Fussiliers. The music is from the Band of the 2nd Battilion The Royal Irish Rangers, from their album "Sailing". The Royal Irish Rangers were formed from Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers and 2 other Irish Regiments.  People have searched for the Gravestone of Willie McBride, but the Irish Independant tracked it to the grave of William McBride shown in the video. The photogragh immediately before is of Willie McBride.  The local men who lost their lives are:

  • Gunner Stephen Wright who was born 18 May 1986 heCrallee was Killed in Action 4 September 2006 at Ad Dayr, north of Basra City he is buried in St Andrews Churchyard.
  • WO2 (QMSI) Dave Markland RE who was born 1973. He was Killed in Action 8 February 2010 in Nad Ali district, Helmand,  Afhganistan. Dave Left behind his wife Corallee and sons Keelen, 10, and Logan 7. She can be seen wearing a purple coat near a hearse in later in the video when he was repatriated.
  • Marine Paul Warren who was Born 29 Nov 1986. He was Killed in Action 21 Jun 2010 at Patrol Base "Airport Lounge", Helmand, Afghanistan he is buried in St Andrews Churchyard
