Mother Maureen Baldwin (known as Mo) was ordained in June 2019 after finally accepting the call from God to be priest, after a career as a teacher and youth worker. Prior to ordination she was a director of The Children’s Society.
She is passionate about working to build a community that welcomes all and inviting people to live as disciples of Jesus. She has been serving her title as Assistant curate at St Laurence Church in Chorley, where she was involved in a diverse range of parish activities, including setting up Taste, pay what you can cafe and preparing children and young people to receive the sacraments of Communion and Confirmation.
After a period of serious illness she is delighted to be returning to ministry with us as Assistant Curate at St Ambrose.
She is married to Shaun, Vicar of St Aidan’s Bamber Bridge and St Leonard’s Walton Le Dale and they are both kept in check by their labradoodle Winnie. Together they enjoy spending downtime in the Lake District.
